Criteria Evaluation

 

The charts below show our train of thought when considering the best type of structure for our project, considering the three main types of structures discussed on the Structural Descriptions page. The first table, to the left, lists the level of concrn for each specific based on the assigned structure (high-rise apartment building) and location (Dallas, Texas).  For example, because the load requirements are high for a tall builidng, that is rated as a 5, meaning most concern, where as access to materials is listed as a 1 because, being located in a fairly large 1st world city, most materials should be readily available and is therefore a low concern. The reasoning is explained adjacent to each rating. This is then used as a multipilier with the specific criteria rating in the second table, to the right. Using these calculated numbers, a final outcome rating was determined for each type of the three structures, steel frame, concrete frame, and diagrid.
